Perry James was the entertainer for the night and he left the crowd rolling in the aisles and wanting more. The 2nd Annual Kinsmen Comedy night is scheduled to go on April 9, 2010 in the melfort curling rink with Comedian/Magician/Ventriloquist Doug Arden.
Tickets will be on sale in Feb of 2010.
Trip of the Month
The Melfort Kinsmen and Kinette Trip of the Month is an annual fundraiser in its 9th year. A total of 250 tickets are sold with 13 chances to win. Your chances of winning each month are always the same whether you have won in the past or not. Draws are made once a month with the 13th and final draw being a $500 cash last chance draw. Ticket sales will commence before Christmas and end January 27th. The fundraiser is a strictly community fundraiser - that is, all the funds generated from tickets sales goes directly back into the community. They help the Melfort Kinsmen and Kinettes fund and sponsor local activities and projects like the Maude Burke Archery team, Encounters with Canada participants, high school scholarships, Kinsmen outdoor rink, skate park and Centenary walking trails, Kinsmen Parks and Playgrounds, Babysitting courses, car seat clinics and any other project that the local clubs feel 'serve the community's greatest need'.

Melfort Trade Show
The Melfort Kinsmen Club in conjunction with the Melfort & District Chamber of Commerce host the annual Northern Lights Tradeshow and Craftshow in October of each year. The event takes place at the Northern Lights Palace and the Melfort Curling Club. The tradeshow typically attracts 60+ exhibitors and the craft show draws 25+ exhibitors. Most exhibitors are based in Saskatchewan, with a large number coming from the Northeast area. You can find anything from home and garden to recreation to agricultural and commercial exhibits. The Kinsmen Club is responsible for arranging all manpower for the event, along with helping in the overall organizing of the show. Any net profits are split evenly between the Chamber and the Kinsmen. And of course, all the money earned by the Kinmen is directed back into the City of Melfort through our community service projects.
