Presidents Message

Hello all !!,

What to say .. what to say ! ... I never realized how fulfilling, exciting and fun it would be being a Kinsmen. I always wondered what they were about and what happens at their meetings. I was invited to a meeting a number of years ago to come out for a meal and meet some new people on a friday night. I ,as any newbie would be, was a bit nervous at first, clinging to the coat tails of my inviter. But after just a few mins I felt at home in the Melfort Kinsmen club.

This year promises to be a memorable one. There is much going on this year. With new members and many events put on by our club. New and exciting things are on the horizon for the Melfort Kinsmen .. There is the ********** and the ****** OH yeah ... and the *******.

Melfort will be hosting District Convention in June 2011 and it will bring many Kin from all over the province to our door. We did our bid for 2011 at Watrous District convention and it was met with a standing ovation. Our event will be "Mel-Kins Speakeasy", it will be a 30's Mobster theme.

Visitation will be key this term. We are hoping to make it out to a number of other clubs ( Kinsmen, Kinette and Kin ) to meet new Kin, share our thoughts and make lifelong friendships. By doing so this will not only confirm what we do but what we do it for !! For the good of not only Kinsmen or Kinettes but for the good of Kin and Serving our communities greatest needs. 

If you are at all interested in seeing what we are all about. We meet on the first Monday and the third Friday of each month at the Melfort Ag Society. This is a great place for life long friendships to grow . You can either contact one of our many members to find out what we are about, or just pop by and check us out.

So you ask, is there a lot of work involved in being a Kinsmen or Kinette?

Not really. There is a lot of fun with a little work on the side.
